About Us
Pillars is a division of the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce which is focused on those between 20-40 years old who live, or work, or have business interests in Lakewood.
A Pillar of the community is
defined as a chief supporter of a society, state or institution. The spirit behind selecting Pillars was the image of a well rounded community leader. An individual who is a leader in their profession, displays integrity, gives back to their community, and can do all of this while still honoring their family.
The objectives include creating opportunities for professional development and a gateway to becoming more involved in the community. While the group's target demographic can be described as young professionals, many events are structured to benefit all lines of work and many stages of advancement. Pillars represents tomorrow's pillars of the community which should include not only business leaders but also teachers, medical professionals, civil services, and other individuals who are engaged in their community.
Our mission is to make the city of Lakewood more conducive to business development by fostering a vibrant, engaged demographic of 20-40 year olds. By collaborating with other local organizations in town, together we can build the foundation for Lakewood’s future. In providing our members with the resources needed to reach their potential, in their careers, their social lives and their civic lives, the community as a whole will be more prosperous.
